Special Session at the Centre for Trade and Investment Law India on Pro’s and Con’s of Merging Trade and Investment – Experience from Recent EU Negotiations with Canada, Vietnam, Singapore

In the month of April 2023, Prof. Steffen Hindelang was invited to deliver a Special Session at the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL, constituent of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry) on “Pros and cons of merging trade and investment – experience from recent EU negotiations with Canada, Vietnam, Singapore.”

Professor Steffen Hindelang’s speech on merging trade and investment problems in international treaties offered insightful analysis and triggered topical discussions. Professor James J. Nedumpara, Head of CTIL and Assistant Professor. Ronjini Ray, who served as the event’s knowledgeable hosts, as well as the audience of researchers and consultants at CTIL, further raised issues of  practical relevance for negotiations between India and the EU that were discussed and addressed in tandem.
