Speaker at the Swedish Network for European Legal Studies’ (SNELS’s) conference on “Investment Treaties and the EU Legal Order: Litigation, Modernisation, And Sustainability,” at Lund University
In May 2022, Professor Steffen Hindelang was invited as a speaker at the Swedish Network for European Legal Studies’ (SNELS’s) conference on “Investment Treaties and the EU Legal Order: Litigation, Modernisation, And Sustainability”, hosted by Xavier Groussot, Marja-Liisa Öberg, and Graham Butler at Lund University.
Professor Steffen Hindelang presented on “Investment and the Internal Market”. In his paper, Professor Steffen argued that not only when talking about investment and the Internal Market- one needs to talk about capital and establishment, the two key concepts shaping the economic activity intra-EU but also when it comes to the Internal Market’s external dimension. Professor Steffen Hindelang’s presentation took stock of what is left from the freedom to investment in the age of Geoeconomics and what is needed to be done to not fall victim rampant security thinking.
Co-panellists for the conference were Laurens Ankersmit and Ivana Damjanovic.
